Reveal Party Cake

This is the first time I had ever seen/heard of this idea and I had to share it with the class ;)
My friend, Meredith, is expecting her third child this summer and she came to me with this idea.
You may have heard of it (if so skip ahead to fun pictures of the event), but if you haven't....

What happened was that Meredith went for an ultrasound, had the baby's gender put into a sealed envelope, and gave it to me that day, before the weekend of the reveal party!
This means only God, the ultrasound tech, and I knew the baby's gender!
This made me feel super cool (and also nervous that my face would give it away at the party... it didn't though... I worked really hard on practicing in the mirror before).

Then you plan a little get together with the people you love most.

I bake a cake and the inside is either pink or blue.
I cover the cake with frosting/fondant so no one can see the color inside.
I decorate the outside with a clever rhyme (or whatever the customer wants) ;)

Then everyone gets to watch anxiously as the expectant parents cut in and get a surprise.

And everyone can see the excited faces of the expecting parents and big brothers

And clap and be happy as we all get to share the exciting moment

And then explain what was happening to the little ones

That's right boys, you are getting a little sister!

It was such a fun cake decorating idea for anyone who is expecting and a fun get-together!
Congrats to Meredith, Andrew, Drew, and Mason on adding a precious baby girl to your family!

Thanks for letting me be a part of it :)

  1. Oh my goodness, this Reveal Party Cake is looking so yummy and the gathering in this bash looks really huge. I am also very impressed with my sister’s unicorn themed 20th birthday bash. She hosted this party at the most beautiful event venue Atlanta. The cake was very creative and so tasty as well.
